Yahoo Answers fail attempt

Yahoo Answers is an awesome traffic source…. if you know how to use it correctly. A few minutes ago, I came across a pretty pathetic but hilarious Yahoo Answers attempt by an Indian blogger. I am guessing that the blogger is trying to boost his status so he can start posting URLs on Yahoo Answers. Here is a screen shot of what I just saw.

How to get more new followers on Tumblr

Wondering how people get thousands of other users to follow them on Tumblr? Here are a few tricks you can use to try and do the same. Remember, if you want to race ahead of the pack then you have to present something unique. This article explains a few tips and tricks on how you can get more followers on Tumblr.

How to get more followers on Tumblr

#1 Use your existing Resource

The first step is to use any existing resource you might have. For example, link your Tumblr to all you major social network accounts like Facebook. There is already a Facebook application for you to easily implement Tumblr. You want to expose your account as much as possible. Your Facebook friends who already have a Tumblr account will eventually follow you once they see your updates on the Facebook feed.

How to add Tumblr on Facebook

Very easy to do. First, click here to access the Facebook Tumblr Application. Now click ‘Go to Application’ and type in your Tumblr URL.

Now click ‘Start importing this blog’ and you are done! If you check out the preference page then it also gives you an option to link Tumblr to Twitter. If you have a twitter account then link it immediately.

#2 Content

Obviously, if you are going to get people to follow you then you will need to write unique content. It is best if you stick with one topic. For example, if you are going to talk up Celebrity gossip then stick with it. People will only follow you because they expect to read more celebrity gossips from your Tumblr account. Make sure you update at least once a day.

#3 Yahoo Answers

This is a great way to convert traffic into followers. Sign up for a yahoo account if you do not have one already and head over to Yahoo Answers. Now look at the categories and see which one is most similar to the topic you are talking about on Tumblr. All you are going to do is answer the questions and include your Tumblr link once for every four or five answers. Make sure you are discrete about it though or else you are going to get flagged.

Obviously, there are many more ways to boost your Tumblr Follower count. These are just for starters. If you want to find out more then feel free to join my RSS Feed.

How Do I Add a Shopping Cart On My Website?

Do you have an innovative product idea? Are you looking for an easy way to sell your products? This article explains how you can easily add a shopping cart on your website. First off, what platform is your website using? WordPress? Drupal? Joomla? All of these major content management systems have shopping cart plug-ins which you can install in a click of a button. Let’s first have a look at WordPress.

How to add a shopping cart on WordPress

First, go to your WordPress Dashboard and go to ‘Add New’ of the plug-in section. Now type in ‘cart’ or ‘shop’ and hit search. You should now have a list of free shopping carts plug-in. Internet Marketers have different opinions on the best shopping cart so it would be best if you test each and every one of them (any shopping cart plug-in with 4+ stars rating). For this tutorial, I will be using WP-eCommerce.

Hit install and activate the plug-in. You should now have a shop navigation panel on the left side of the WordPress Dashboard. It should give you the following options: Sales, Products, Categories, Variations, Marketing, Setting, Upgrades. It is pretty straight forward from here onwards.

Let’s check out the product section. See how easy it is? You just need to fill in the boxes in the Add Product section and they are ready to be sold. There are clear instructions for each section so it is up to you to experiment the rest of the product section. This eCommerce plug-in also gives you an opportunity to provide coupons to your customers (this feature can be found in the marketing section).

When you submit the product details, the eCommerce plug-in automatically generates a page like the image above. Pretty sweet huh?

What if you are not using any content management system? Drupal and Joomla follows the same principles as WordPress so you just need to find the right plug-in for the respective CMS. If you are not using a content management system (I highly recommend you do) then it is best to either go on fantastico (available in your website host’s cPanel) and select one of the shopping cart programs available. You should then install the shopping cart in a sub-directory.

Most cPanels should come with the Fantastico De Luxe service. It can be found in the Software/services section. When you are in Fantastico, go to the E-Commerce section. Test each product and see which one suits your needs best.
